Once again, we come to the Holiday Season, a deeply religious time that each of us observes, in his own way, by going to the mall of his choice.
-Dave Barry-

The Christmas season is in full swing with shoppers to and fro not just to the malls but down the halls to computers, iPads, iPhones and online shopping all looking for the best DEAL not necessarily the perfect gift. For the Grinch’s of the world it seems that the sarcastic view of the Holiday as it is played out in so many homes is exactly what they perceived it to be. The goal in most of society today is not to remember the Birth of Jesus, the Christ, the Messiah, the Holy Anointed One, the Begotten of the Father, the Redeemer, the Savior, the Lord of Glory, the Giver of Grace, the Gift that was given but rather the emphasis is on the candy canes, ribbons and bows, Christmas trees, decking the halls you get the point. Most of us have enough socks, ties and handkerchiefs to last a lifetime. Maybe what is needed is a return to some good, time tested gifts that can really change lives for the better. Here are a few perhaps you know of others:

To our enemies, give forgiveness
To our neighbor, provide a service
To our friends, be loyal
To the depressed, bring glad tidings of great joy
To those captive to sin, bring freedom
To our children, be a good example
To the poor, provide a hand-up not a hand-out
To those who use and abuse, give a prayer
To those who curse and oppress, BLESS especially now
To the Church, give commitment
To the Holy Spirit, give obedience
To Christ, give your ALL
To God, give Glory for great things he hath done.

Time’s up.
