Union Chapel-Ten volunteers donated their time to Union Chapel Harvest Ministries Nonprofit for the distribution of 26 boxes to more than 20 needy individuals and families on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 just before the Thanksgiving holiday. The Jerry Scott Pantry located at Union Chapel Holiness Methodist Church received funds from the Lumbee Tribe to stock the pantry with all types of food items. To maximize the monies we spend, these items are generally purchased from the Second Harvest Food Bank in Fayetteville, NC. Our goal is to provide food to needy individuals and families on a bi-monthly basis depending on the availability of donations and funds. Several members of our youth program also assisted with preparing signs, for our upcoming event partnering with cast members of the Eleventh Hour Church Play for the first annual “Street Ministry”. The object is to give away food, clothes, and personal hygiene products while supplies last. Please come out and share the gospel message as we support this worthy event on Sunday, November 28, 2010 from 3-5 pm in the Cyna’s Jewelers parking lot!
