Welcome was given by Rev. Jimmy Locklear and the congregational song,
“He Whispered Sweet Peach to Me”
It is great to be in the house of the Lord today. We know that its rainy, wet, cold, and probably not good for a few of our folks to be outside this morning, but nevertheless, we are here.
“We are going to let the light of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ shine in our lives today. On Friday night, a dear friend passed from this life to Glory. I’ve pointed this out because he was a great friend and we just do not know when death will come to us.”
Love Feast was given to the church in recognition of our Love for God and to each other.
Prayer and Thanksgiving was given by Mr. Joe Locklear, “We thank You Lord for this day and all that it means to us. Lord, You have stood by us a long time . . . . . .”
Adult Chorus: “God on the Mountain” thanks to Lynda Randal.
Mrs. Connie Bullard gave an overwhelming testimony about how God will protect us if we only believe. She made a comparison to the Rod of Moses and a simple stick she and her husband had that became a shield of protection for them. The stick was more than a stick it became a shield of faith and trust to them. The stick when held up for protection God used it as a shield to ward off a pack of dogs as they jog along in their daily exercise routine. “With God all things are possible if we put our faith in God.”
Rev. Jimmy Locklear, “ What Do My Christianship Mean to Me” Roman 12:1-3 “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world; but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.”
What Do My Christianship Mean to Me?
Let love be without restrictions. “One cannot hide love – it must be real”. There is no place in your lives for evil let us avoid the evil things of this world, and cleave to them which are good and hold on to that. Rev. Jimmy wanted everyone to test another love in the community. “If you want a true test of love visit in your neighbor home and see where real love abides. That love will show itself in your daily lives. We are to show yourself worthy. We are Christian. Verse10, “Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another”.
There are many places where love is visible. In your church, do Christian show love one to another, or do they turn their head and walk the other way to avoid you rather than speak. Verse #11 “Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord. Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation, continuing instant in prayer”.
In conclusion: There are others that observe you as a Christian. “What Do My Christianship Mean to Me? Can Your Christianship be proven or tested? This is not a new commandment, but one that God gave to the Israelites. Mark 12:29-30 “And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord. And thou shalt love the Lord with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength; this the first commandment. You see, regardless where the Scripture is we are taught the same thing; to love as we would want to be loved.
