Maxton- With the Christmas Holiday fast approaching it is difficult to remember what the season is all about with the rush of television advertisements of sales spectaculars everywhere. Yet for the church the task is to not only remind themselves but to present to the world that Christmas is about God giving His Son Jesus Christ to pay the price for the penalty of human SIN. It is easy to lose sight of this fact. For Shoeheel Holiness Methodist Church and the Serving People In Need (SPIN) a nursing and extended care facility ministry the giving aspect of this season was brought to the fore-front when the church collected, socks, hats, blankets, large print crossword books and other items that will be distributed to residents at local care facilities in which the congregation has taken on to provide “Christian” service to. There are approximately 40 Care facilities within the Boundary of Robeson County and nearly 700 churches yet some facilities still have no Christian service provided to them on a regular basis. If you are interested in getting involved in this type of ministry seek God in careful prayer then please feel free to contact Brother Tim Locklear SPIN executive director on ways you can help make a difference.
