This Sunday at Shoeheel Pastor Dwayne Lowry demonstrated how people are shielded from God’s wrath through Intercession from the Holy Spirit and Jesus Christ. We also learned the difference between God’s grace and intercession. The distinguishing difference of intercession is that the intercessor is willfully ready to take the punishment of those they are interceding for, such as Moses interceding on behalf of the Israelites he said, “Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written” (Ex 32:32, KJV). Ultimately Jesus is the Great intercessor taking upon himself the sin of all humanity, the writer of Mark states it like this, “For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many” (Mark 10:45). Pastor Lowry gave us a thought to ponder, he said, “The next time you say you are going to intercede for someone consider if you are really willing to receive what’s deserved of the person you are interceding for.”
