{xtypo_dropcap}F{/xtypo_dropcap}airmont- On October 23, 2011 New Bethel Holiness Methodist Church Celebrated its Annual Homecoming and recognized Sisters Jennifer Hunt and Twila Blakely for their dedicated service  and hard work not just for their local church but to the entire Lumber River Conference of the Holiness Methodist Church. The church choir, as well as, Alise and Nelson Freeman offered up some special music to the Lord. The Reverend Dwayne Lowry took the days text from Jer. 6:16 and challenged those present to do as the great prophet of old did to find what was good about the old paths and to walk therein. He reminded the crowd of about 225 that Israel responded by saying that they would not walk therein and shortly thereafter they met with the wrath of God for sin and disobedience. His prophetic message was clear that the church of today and the United States is on a collision course with God since we too have known the good path and chosen not to walk therein.

After a lively Worship service feasting on the Word of God those present were all invited to the fellowship hall to dine on some outstanding foods prepared by the women of the church. There was a plethora of cakes, pies, and vegetables and an abundance of fellowship. The church would like to thank Susan Bass, Pat Freeman, Garry Hunt, Jennifer Hunt, Vanessa Hunt, JoAnn Hunt, the Homecoming Program Committee chaired by brother Jimmy Sanderson, those who prepared food and those who helped to clean-up afterwards. We would also like to express our deep gratitude to the many visitors who came and shared with us, but above all as Brother Dwayne reminds us so often we wish to thank and give praise to God “because all of this is about Jesus.”
