On April 20th and 21st, Riverside embarked on a two-day celebration of Christ’s Resurrection. On Saturday, the church hosted an Easter Egg Hunt and cookout for our church family as well as for the community. We had two separate hunt courses – an easier course for the preschool/toddlers and a more difficult course for our older young people. Our teens were in charge of the courses and hiding all the eggs. It was an excellent day full of fun, food, and fellowship.
The celebration continued on Sunday morning with our annual Sunrise Service and Breakfast. After Sunday School, it was time for our annual Easter Play. This year’s play was entitled “Tell Me The Story Of Jesusâ€. This play was unique in that it utilized all of our young people—from age 3 to age 18. Our Pre-Teen/Teen classes acted out the story of Jesus from the Triumphal Entry on Palm Sunday to Jesus’s appearing to His disciples after the Resurrection. Between the scenes, our Preschool/Elementary classes preformed Cardboard Testimonies/Drama to the songs “Were You There†and “You Love Me Anywayâ€. Our Praise and Worship Team (God’s Foundations) concluded the play by preforming “We Are The Reasonâ€.
Everything went well! The Lord was glorified and all in attendance were blessed. It was an excellent conclusion to a day of worship and praise for our Risen Savior!
“He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’†Luke 24:6-7
