Christmas 2019 was a busy time for many in our congregation. On Saturday, December 7, our Youth for Christ went Christmas caroling in our community. As we stopped at each individual house, we gave out candy canes, Gospel tracts, and invitations to the Shoehill Live Nativity and our own Christmas play. We also had the opportunity to sing for one of our shut-in elders – Sister Evelyn Morgan. We want to thank Brother Harold Jacobs from Shoeheel for joining us with our community caroling and for allowing us to use his trailer.
We had some of our congregation that participated in the Shoeheel Live Nativity this year. All that participated enjoyed the experience and plan to participate again next year.
Finally, Riverside concluded its Christmas celebration on Sunday night, December 22 with our annual Christmas play. The theme of this year’s play was “A Symbolic Christmas – The Truth Revealed”. The play explored the meaning behind some of our most famous symbols of Christmas. This year’s play was challenging because we had no fellowship hall to practice in on Wednesday nights and no costumes to use (they were all in storage). However, even with these challenges, we persevered and many were blessed by the play. We would like to thank Shoeheel for their support by attending our play – it was greatly appreciated!
