Maxton-There is a fundamental truth which hangs over the church like the proverbial “pink elephant” in the room and that is the fact that unless the church takes strong and positive steps to train up the next generation of church leaders there will be none. Most of our churches are weak in the area of “Christian Discipleship” therefore we must rely the training of our children during Sunday school to accomplish this. The congregation of Shoeheel church has been challenged to make the youth and children of the church a priority. Shoeheel has heard and accepted this charge starting both a children’s and youth choir and on September 21, 2014 kicking off a children’s sermonette time during the worship service, parents with infants were encouraged to bring their children to the front so that their young minds could be exposed to the word of God. This first of what we hope to be a part of our weekly services was led by Brother Mitchell Harris a real man of God with a great zeal for the work of the Lord.
