FROM THE DESK OF THE PASTOR
For APRIL 17, 2011
{xtypo_dropcap}T{/xtypo_dropcap}he other day I was walking to the barn, when I saw a grasshopper just sitting around on some grass. I spoke up, you better get busy or the winter will catch you unprepared, not having food to eat or a place to stay. I thought, how easy it is for the Christian to get himself in this same situation. Christ would have us to be out in the fields of life working that we would be prepared. Matthew 4:18-20 says, “And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishers. And He saith unto them, follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. And they straightway left their nets, and followed Him.” So as Christians, Jesus wants us to be productive in our Christian life. We don’t want to be like the grasshopper, complacent and satisfied with the way things are today. So let us be like the disciples, willing to lay down the things that are not paying off, and take up the cause of Christ of spreading the Gospel.
