Maxton- Some tasks seem almost impossible as was the case when members of Shoeheel Holiness Methodist church took on the task of removing a boiler from the building to make room for future expansion of the kitchen area. According to school records the mammoth piece of equipment had been placed there in the 1950’s when the building was built and served as a school. At the time of installation the old Fitzgibbons boiler was an engineering marvel holding some 45 patents and up-grades from earlier models. With the help of a tractor provided by Brother Glen Locklear about twenty church members watched with uneasiness as the men of the church worked to extract the colossal steel container from its home of more than sixty years.
